God is the main theme of my life so everything I'm undergoing has its reason and purpose.
I don't try to use my own knowledge
but I plagiarise from the Bible and other useful sources
because I'm inexperienced and very very young...

lol. wat a long time since an entry was posted here! i've got something to share, which is personally dedicated to Andrew Chua, in response to his post n tag in his blog.
let me ask u, y shuld u help or make someone else happy n on the other hand lose out or gain nuttin?? y b a nice guy when at the end of the day no 1 ever remembers u? i learned my lesson.. it juz doesnt pay to b a nice guy for me..
Posted at 10:54 pm by mehtens
this were our tags: Gland >> u're right andrew, kindness sometimes doesn't pay, but Jesus teaches us something else. our aim of doing good unto others is not to seek their favour, but to please God. n u pleased Him! AC >> how would we noe if we please him? by feelin upsad? abit werid huh?
okay. i'm oso kinda experiencing a similar struggle as his. but i read a book (The Prayer of Jabez by Bruce Wilkinson) where the author talks abt praying for the expansion of God's ministry thru his life. i'm gonna just extract bits and pieces of tt chapter here. i hope you'd be able to still get the whole picture and understand wat he's trying to tell us:
I just couldn't shake the feeling that I was the wrong man for the job. Extremely upset, I decided to seek the cousel of a trusted older man, John Mitchell. ...
"Son, " he said, in his kindly brogue, "that feeling you are running from is called dependence. It means you are walking with the Lord Jesus. Actually, the second you're not feeling dependent is the second you've backed away from truly living by faith."
I didn't like what I heard. "You're saying, Dr. Mitchell, that feeling that I just can't do it is what I'm supposed to be feeling?"
"Why certainly, young man!" he said, beaming. "That's the one all right."
It's a frightening and utterly exhilarating truth, isn't it? As God's chosen, blessed sons and daughters, we are expected to attempt something large enough that failure is guaranteed...unless God steps in. Take a minute to prayerfully try to comprehend how contrary that truth is to everything you would humanly choose:
1. It goes beyond common sense. 2. It contradicts your previous life experience. 3. It seems to disregard your feelings, training, and need for security. 4. It sets you up to look like a fool and a loser.
so Andrew, wat i'm trying to say is, you knew you were doing the right thing but you wanted to see tangible results frm ur kind actions, such as others being kind to you too and God being pleased. This shows tt you're depending on God to bless you, which is not wrong at all. I guess you just have to trust God to bless you in other ways you wouldn't have expected. it's like the above points 1, 3 and 4.
i hope this clears up some air.

After watching DOOM, which might be a trashy show for some, we have come to an important concept about the soul. We MUST be pure in our thinking and our actions. There is really no point hiding behind some good guy's mask when your heart is black thoroughly inside-out. Still don't get what i am talking about?
i am going to spoil the movie for those who haven't watched it yet. In DOOM, we have these creatures who have this extra pair of chromosomes that make them stronger, faster and heal at a faster rate. it all started when the extra chromosome was injected into a criminal. he mutated into this monster that could turn others into monsters like himself. now this extra pair of chromosomes came from an ancient civilisation on Mars. they were supposed to be superhumans. and they were forced to actually evacuate Mars and go to Earth for another existence. what forced them to do that in the first place? the monsters. and this twenty fourth pair was artificially injected into these super humans too. they knew bio engineering.
the bottom line of these all is that our thoughts and actions have a certain impact on our bio-chemistry. whether its our neurotransmitter or some kind of process that evil men have that good men do not have. hence one day when such a judgement comes unto us. are we ready to say we are pure? only when such a substance is injected into us then we would know whether we wil be monsters or super humans. it is a more extreme version of judgement or a test of purity.
In life, God can see our blackness and our imperfections. the darkness of our souls emnates from our bodies like a dirt patch to God. and He will try His best to ask His son to do some cleaning. IF we let Him. because the way He works is if we accept Him into the room of our minds. Imagine it this way. the Cleaner is outside a room. He knocks on the door and says "house keeping". but it is met with a very rude gesture or a "do not disturb" sign. that means we do not accept Him. it's as bad as saying "screw off" to a Christian that talks to you. a rather bad analogy. i hope you'll get it.
So, if we want to be ready to face God and say "yo, i'm pure", we have to be really sure about it. after all, you ARE in the presence of God, the creator. i'm sure you would want to look presentable. clothes are of the material world. our souls are of the spiritual one. i'm sure you wouldn't want God to a patch of dark here and there on your soul right?
so what are u waiting for? Open your mind to the Cleaner and let him do the cleansing for you. "Ask and you shall receive" if u commit a sin, repent and ask for forgiveness. if you are truly repentent, it'll be wiped off like a miracle detergent.
God bless

When betrayed by a friend
there is a terrible sound in the word "betrayed".
to betray someone is to deal treacherously(deceitfully) w/ them.
the more we love loyalty the more we loathe betrayal.
in a hard n cruel world such as this we're not surprised when we're hurt by our enemies.
but no one expects to be hurt by a friend.
few things wud have hurt our Lord more thn to be betrayed by one of His own disciples.
how do we cope w/ betrayal?
how do we handle our lives when we become a victim of treachery by a friend?
1st, we must take our pain to God.
n invite Him to invade our hearts w/ His soothing balm.
who better thn Jesus can sympathise w/ us in this kind of problem?
it is perilously(dangerously) easy to turn elsewhere for comfort - entertainment, etc.
some even attempt to push the matter out of awareness.
but all painful situations must be faced, tho they don't have to be dwelt upon.
we must let God minister to us in our hurt;
He is the only One who can "restore the soul".
bcos hurt can quickly escalate into resentment,
w/ the help of our Lord, we must empty our heart of all bitterness n - forgive.
forgiveness may not always bring abt changes in the other person
(nor guarantee tt he/she will want to be restored),
but it will ensure release for our own soul.
the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ stands n holds out wide appealing arms to all who have been betrayed.
it says: " this is how Jesus dealt w/ His enemies ... n the friend who betrayed Him."
in the light of tt great fact, can we do anything other thn forgive?
Scriptures to reflect on:
1. The closer the friendship, the deeper the hurt.
Psalm 55:12-14
If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it;
if a foe were raising himself against me, I could hide from him.
But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend,
with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship
as we walked with the throng at the house of God.
2. Our Lord knew betrayal oso.
Luke 22:47, 48
While He was still speaking, one of the 12 approached Jesus to kiss Him,
but Jesus asked him, "Judas are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"
3. Transfer all ideas of vengeance to God.
Romans 12:19
Do not take revenge, but leave room for God's wrath,
for it is written: "It is Mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.
4. Let God restore ur soul.
Psalm 23:2, 3
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul.
5. Don't hit back.
1 Peter 3:9a
Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing.
6. See how much u've been forgiven.
Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.
Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
7. Jesus forgave, He can help u forgive too.
Luke 23:34
Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

The Makings of a Satanist
There are times when we feel scorned by God.
some of us lose our faith.
then, we who once loved God, start to hate Him and worship satan.
that is unhealthy.
You can imagine as in Star Wars.
I'm sure alot of us have watched.
the dark side is the side of the devil and the Force is God
( except we don't use Him to do all those stunts)
but we still ask Him to do the impossible.
and when the light side of the Force seems to fail anakin, he turned to the dark side.
and at the end of it all, he sees its wrong and turns back to the light.
and he is still saved.
how many of us are like at the crux of it all.
where we are dealing with ourselves and God just doesnt seem to be helping us.
then i have to ask you this question:
instead of wondering Where God is? why not wonder what this trial is for?
God wants u to be strong.
hence u suffer tribulations.
and emerge a stronger Christian.
Its is not friendly circumstances that makes us stronger but adversity.
What does not kill you will only you stronger.
If u just cannot seem to think it through.
you must know.
we shouldnt blame God for the bad things that happen to us.
He only wants whats best for you.
dont go to the dark side cos you cannot take it.
instead thank God for giving you this trial where u emerge stronger.
ask for strength and stamina to carry on.
you have many choices in life but only one path.
walk the right one.
as a last measure, remember Job who refused to curse God even tho the devil was playing games with his body and property.
bye

Today, let's talk about your faith.
i learned this from a book.
something about a purpose driven life.
its a very good book i have to say.
do you realise that sometimes God doesnt give u an answer?
but maybe He gives it to those who are weak in their faith.
Those who are already strong He sees no need to help u and hold your hand anymore.
you are no longer a baby.
He wants you to stand tall and proud in the light of His glory.
temptation.
one thing i learned from the book is that.
the devil tempts us because he hates us.
he hates us and want us to screw up our chance to go to heaven.
he wants God's people to suffer.
he wants God to cry over the loss of His people.
he whispers in ur ears dirty things.
things u desire to hear.
material.
for he has control of the world and he can grant us anything we want.
but he wants our souls.
there really is no point trying to trick him.
he has been doing this for so many years.
if its any master of trickery, the devil's the one.
if its any master of arguments, the devil's the one.
be wary of temptation.
do not fall for it.
or ur ticket to heaven will be torn and become invalid.

Hello, I am a new writer for this learning blog.
As you can see my English is not supposed to be so good but this is a learning blog and people cannot learn if they see bad language.
For people who know me, you should know that such language is not me.
So, prepare yourselves okay, now we come to this issue of light and darkness.
Very often, in life, we come across times where we have to make a choice between right or wrong.
It may be something major or something minor.
Sometimes it's a clear cut decision like don't smoke or take drugs.
However, there are times when we are forced by the pressure of circumstances that we cannot think clearly.
Here, i introduce this term called Adversity Quotient (AQ).
A person who is able to handle difficult situations with a calm mind has a high AQ and hence is a survivor.
Light and Darkness are areas of God and the devil.
God wants His people to come to heaven, to be saved from the life of sin that Adam and Eve started.
The door's open for us.
All we have to do is just walk through it.
LOOK for the door.
It's not hard.
Just in front of you.
But the devil throws things to block it.
Or worse, he calls u from going towards the door.
He doesn't go, "Hey man, look here."
It goes more on the lines of, "Hey check this out.
Hey it's better than that lousy door.
That door restricts u.
Come to my gate.
It's so big.
U can move.
U can do anything u want"
That is called temptation.
Everyday, we have to make decisions between light and darkness.
Sometimes the light decision is painful.
We have to give up the things we desire, while the darkness gives full rise to ur passions.
U can do anything u want to do at the cost of ur soul.
Some people say, "What's the cost of the soul?
It's worth nothing to people."
That is because people are blinded by so many things of material desires to look at the true value of things.
All our money and possesions, we cannot bring to heaven.
So why hang on to them?
They only give momentary pleasure.
Greed - the thing that plagues man for so many centuries.
Money - the most evil thing that has eva happened to the world.
Cos it itself has no value.
U can't use it for anything.
It's onli meant to count the value of material things.
But now people go fight for these printed papers which have a face on it.
Lust - the most primal instinct in all animals.
The urge to reproduce.
With man's intelligence it can evolve to a perversion.
Hence the devil also uses this urge to make man sin.
To make 'em commit sins that they seem to be unable to control themselves.
Cos it's an instinct.
Hence it takes a higher mind to control this basic instinct.
Lastly, hatred.
This is born of a higher mind where onli man do such a thing.
Jealousy and all that amounts to this.
Anger, and the impulse to be violent.
It is not an excuse to say u cannot control ur language or ur actions.
Cos it takes a lot of self control to do that.
Saying all these, i can't say i myself am a saint.
I commit such sins too.
But each time we do such sins, we must ask for forgiveness and be repentant.
Then, we can find the way to the door.
I have said my piece.
Ask God for all that.

Finding joy in my walk with Jesus
God gives me work that I may seek His rest,
He gives me strength to meet the hardest test;
And as I walk in providential grace,
I find that joy goes with me, at God's pace.

Good Friday sermon by Rev Gilbert Wong
attended service this morning.
the ambience was solemn.
just wanna share what i absorbed during sermon.
looking at Matthew 4: 1 - 11
The Temptation of Jesus
Matthew 4
5 Then the devil took Jesus to the holy city and had Him stand on the highest point of the temple.
6 "If You are the Son of God," he said, "throw Yourself down.
For it is written:
'He will command His angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'"
7 Jesus answered him,
"It is also written:
'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"
We need to discern.
We must know which part of the Scripture to use pertaining our various circumstances.
Sometimes, one verse alone misleads us.
It is true that God will command His angels to rescue us when we fall.
However, that is when we stumble and fall accidentally.
For example, there are some times when we fall down, accidentally, but surprisingly, we do not feel hurt at all.
That, perhaps, is the work of God fulfilled in Psalms.
On the contrary, if we deliberately jump down from the top of a building, the outcome will be disastrous.
Furthermore, we all should not intentionally do thing to test if God's Word is true in the first place.
Like in verse 7, Jesus quoted that we ought not to put God to the test.
The second thing we can learn from the temptation of Jesus is that some time after we have been tempted, the devil will go away and God will send His angels to minister to us, in the areas that we do need help in.
Matthew 4: 8 Then the devil left Him, and angels came and attended to Him.
God has done so for Jesus, He will also do the same for us, for we are also precious to Him.

God has taken the initiative
"In the beginning God ..."
The first four words of the Bible tell us that the religion of the Bible is a religion of the initiative of God.
God always makes the first move.
You can never take Him by surprise.
You can never anticipate Him.
Before man existed, God acted.
Before man seeks God, God has sought man.
The Bible reveals a God who, long before it even occurs to man to turn to Him, while man is still lost in darkness and sunk in sin, takes the initiative, rises from His throne, lays aside His glory, and stoops to seek until He finds him.
God has taken the initiative in creation, in revelation and in salvation.
God has created.
God has spoken.
God has acted.
God has spoken and acted in Jesus Christ.
He has said something.
He has done something.
This means that Christianity is not just pious talk.
It is neither a collection of religious ideas nor a catalogue of rules.
It is a 'gospel' (good news).
It is not primarily an invitation to man to do anything.
it is supremely a declaration of what God has done in Christ for human-beings like ourselves.
